I’m Lila Stanners, a Death Doula and Artist supporting folks through hard times.

My practice is rooted in ancestral Scottish folk magic, collective liberation, queerness, disability, a deep reverence for grief and love, and an ever-expanding sense of awe.

My goal is to help connect you to your own source of power, co-create a compassionate space where you can attend to your whole being, and offer guidance as you navigate the vast unknown.

Offerings

Advance Care & Death Planning

What do you want your final weeks, days, and hours to be like? Together, we will create a holistic and detailed guide for you, your loved ones, and/or your care team(s).

Rituals & Ceremonies

In ceremony, we tend to our experiences with a sense of reverence. We get to witness each other’s humanity, express what has been banished to the shadows, process when words fail, and look to the earth for wisdom.

Caregiver Respite & Sitting Vigil

Find some balance between the care you give and the care you receive, by tending to yourself for a bit while I stay with your loved one. I can provide light home, pet, and personal care. I can also vigil at the bedside while your loved one is in the active dying process.

Intuitive Readings & Spiritual Support

In the sacred space we create together, I will invite you to tune into your self-knowing, connect to your own source of power, face what’s asking for your attention, and play in the vast unknown. To strengthen my intuitive channelling in a reading, I sometimes draw, meditate, or use oracle cards.

Education

Hire me to speak about grief, death, and dying with your class, group, or workplace.

Grief Companionship

I accompany you through your experience of grief by offering compassionate listening, resources, systems navigation support, outlets for self expression, parallel play (being alone together), altar building, spiritual support, and/or personalized rituals.

Final Wishes & Projects

We will explore if there’s anything you’d like to leave behind when you die. This could be a letter, an artwork, a scrapbook, a garden box, or anything else you feel called to make. I’ll help your ideas come to fruition.

I can also offer the practical and emotional support to complete any lists or projects before you die. This could be accompanying you to a soccer game, sitting by the lake, or calling an old friend. Together, we will figure out how to make it happen.
